On June 19, 2025, Fair Oaks Foundation board members and volunteers hosted University of West Georgia archaeology professor Nathan Lawres and his group of eight students for a BBQ lunch on one of their days off from their inaugural three-week excavation on the Fair Oaks property, which unearthed many artifacts such as Alachua pottery dating back to between 800 and 1600 AD, musket balls, handcrafted square-head nails, and more.
